You must have a java run-time envronment (JRE) installed on your computer for java applets to run properly.
- The Windows JRE, version 6, update 4 is here.
- JREs for other platforms can be found here.
- After downloading the JRE to your hard drive, execute the downloaded file.
All default suggestions for installation of the JRE should be sufficient.
- Fire up your favorite web browser (or click
"Refresh" on one that's already open), and the applet should run correctly.
- If this doesn't work, try uninstalling all java stuff and then doing a fresh
install of the JRE. In a Windows environment, go to "Control Panels"
and click on "Add and Remove Programs". Look for everything with 'java'
in the title and remove it. Then re-install the JRE.
